Digital Menu Design Tips: How to Make Your Menu Look Great

Your menu is your first impression. A few simple choices about colors, fonts, and organization make a big difference.

Choose high-contrast colors

Dark background + light text is most popular for restaurants. Use an accent color for headings and prices. Avoid more than 3 colors.

Pick the right fonts

Serif fonts (Playfair Display, Cormorant Garamond) feel upscale. Sans-serif (DM Sans, Raleway) feel modern. Use max two fonts.

Organize with clear categories

5-8 items per category. Short category names. Put high-margin items first and last.

Use photos strategically

Quality over quantity. One great photo beats blurry photos of everything. Bad food photos hurt orders.

Design for the screen

TV: large text, high contrast, whitespace. Phone: single column, tap-friendly spacing, fast loading.
